Sharon - do you have an email address where you can be reached?
Yes, you can email me at email@example.com.But if you have a story about the Brass Jail, I'd much rather you post it to the blog so that everyone can read it!
Everyone has a Brass Jail story...but it's best to keep quiet about it :-)
Before it was the Brass Jail, it was the Brass Rail, local watering hole for politicians and other assorted sordid characters in downtown Danbury in the 50's.Cith Hall was across the street, and many times, the "meetings" were held upstairs in the Brass Rail, as well as local functions, wedding stags, graduation dinners form Main St. School (8th grade, no alcohol!)I believe it was owned by the Ginty family at the time.Nice! Memories abound!
Thanks so much for the wonderful memories of the Brass Rail!I've seen a photo of the old City Hall, and posted a copy on this blog. It was magnificent.
